This project involved the restoration of the historic Crystal Ballroom and adjacent kitchen located on the 17th floor of the King Edward Hotel. The complete design and restoration were carried out in accordance with heritage requirements, ensuring the preservation of the ballroom’s historic character. The project was highly acclaimed, receiving the 2016 IES Illumination International Award of Excellence, the 2016 IES Illumination North America Award of Merit, and the 2016 IES Illumination Toronto Section Award.

Lonergan Engineering acted as the electrical consultant, designing and managing the electrical construction for the project.

Ontario heritage centre

Toronto, Ontario | 2021 | 47,600 sq. ft. | $216K project

This project involved the full replacement of the existing fire alarm system at the Ontario Heritage Centre, including a new fire alarm control panel, annunciator panel, and all field devices. All components were updated to meet current AODA and Ontario Building Code requirements. To support the design process, Lonergan Engineering captured 360-degree spherical video of the building to better understand the facility layout.

Lonergan Engineering designed and prepared the contract documents, issued CCDC and payment certificates, performed contract administration, and issued substantial completion.
