Canadian Mental Health Association
Barrie, Ontario | 2023 | 7,000 sq. ft. | $2.2M project
Overview:
This project involved the renovation of the Canadian Mental Health Association’s building at 15 Bradford Street in Barrie to accommodate overnight guests. The work included adding 12 beds, new consultation rooms, an updated kitchen, and supporting spaces. The electrical distribution was replaced, new energy-efficient LED lighting and controls were installed, and life safety systems were upgraded to meet current code requirements.
Role:
Lonergan Engineering provided electrical design services meeting healthcare codes and standards, while supporting CMHA’s operational mandate. The team prepared permit, tender, and construction documents, and provided contract administration for the electrical portion of the project.

Haliburton Highlands Health Services
Haliburton, Ontario | 2016 | 1,282 sq. ft. | $900K project
Overview:
This project involved the addition of a two-unit palliative care space with supporting areas and a lounge at Haliburton Highlands Health Services. The final location selected for the addition required coordination with the electrical utility provider to relocate the main electrical meter to accommodate the new construction.
Role:
Lonergan Engineering provided electrical design services meeting healthcare codes and standards while supporting the Health Care Facility’s mandate.The team prepared permit, tender, and construction documents, and provided contract administration for the electrical portion of the project.

Stevenson Memorial Hospital
Alliston, Ontario | 2021 | 1,000 sq. ft.
Overview:
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Stevenson Memorial Hospital engaged Lonergan Engineering to assess whether their existing infrastructure could support a 1,000 sq. ft. addition for three new Intensive Care Units (ICUs) compliant with CSA Z32. Through extensive site work and reverse engineering of the electrical system, Lonergan updated the facility’s single line diagrams, identified critical loads, and confirmed capacity for the ICU addition. Following a successful study, Lonergan supported the construction of the ICU addition and redesigned the facility’s powerdistribution to future-proof critical loads for upcoming expansions.
Role:
Lonergan Engineering provided full electrical design, prepared contract documents, and managed the electrical construction phase.
