Junior Electrical Designer / Drafter
Job Description:
We are seeking a talented Junior Electrical Designer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the building services sector. This individual will be a key member of our engineering team, providing support in the design and drafting of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting design and controls, fire alarm systems, and coordination with other project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
◘ Assist in the design of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and controls
◘ Support the coordination with other architectural and engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of systems
◘ Ensure designs comply with the Ontario building code, CSA standards, ULC standards, and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
◘ Draft and detail electrical designs using Autocad, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace products
◘ Provide support in project specifications and cost estimating
◘ Regularly travel to job sites as required
Qualifications:
◘ Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Technologist, or related field
◘ 3+ years of experience in the building services industry
◘ Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and controls
◘ Experience with drafting and detailing electrical designs using Autocad, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace products
◘ Ability to read and interpret building codes and standards
◘ Excellent organizational and communication skills
◘ A valid driver’s license
